
Runaway Bay and Springtown, Texas Tornados April 2026
A destructive supercell thunderstorm moved across North Texas on the night of April 25, 2026, producing an EF2 tornado in Runaway Bay and an EF1 tornado near Springtown, along with large hail, damaging winds, blocked roads, downed utilities, and widespread power outages. The Runaway Bay tornado caused the most severe damage, including destroyed manufactured homes, major residential damage, at least 20 displaced families, 6 injuries, and 1 fatality.
Near Springtown, NWS confirmed an EF1 tornado with winds around 105 mph, while nearby severe straight-line winds estimated up to 110 mph damaged or destroyed additional homes and businesses and caused a second fatality.
