Tropical Storm Edouard made landfall along the southwestern Louisiana coast near the Texas–Louisiana border on September 1, bringing strong winds, heavy rainfall, coastal impacts, and the potential for flash flooding across Southwest Louisiana and Southeast Texas. As the system moves inland, the primary concern is shifting toward heavy rainfall, flash flooding, and power outages . Communities across Southeast and East Texas and Southwest Louisiana could experience flooding in low-lying and urban areas, downed trees and power lines, and other storm-related impacts. Power Outages Power outages have increased significantly across Southeast Texas , with the greatest impacts currently concentrated in Jefferson and Orange counties . Tens of thousands of customers have experienced outages as Edouard moved inland, including significant outages in and around the Port Arthur–Beaumont area . See live updates on the link below. Utility crews are actively assessing damage and beginning restoration efforts. Additional outages remain possible as strong winds, saturated soils, and heavy rainfall continue across the region. Edouard is expected to weaken as it continues inland; however, flooding and power-related impacts may continue beyond the period of strongest winds .
