The remnants of Tropical Storm Arthur brought significant flooding, tornadoes, and severe weather to Louisiana beginning June 18, 2026, with the greatest impacts reported in Avoyelles Parish and St. Tammany Parish . In Avoyelles Parish, more than 24 inches of rain caused historic flash flooding, resulting in widespread residential damage and numerous water rescues. As of June 21, GOHSEP verified 480 Individual Assistance assessments , including 1 destroyed, 60 major, 280 minor, and 42 affected homes , with additional assessments still underway. In St. Tammany Parish, tornadoes, damaging winds, and flooding impacted the Slidell area, with 124 homes and businesses damaged , including 13 destroyed and 19 with major damage . Coordination & Response Serve Source is supporting communication, situational awareness, and resource development efforts alongside state and local leaders. Through its network of churches, nonprofits, and disaster response partners, Serve Source is helping connect needs, resources, and response efforts across impacted communities. Multiple partner response activities and available resources are shared below. Texans on Mission Disaster Relief teams have deployed to Louisiana after Tropical Storm Arthur left behind widespread damage and impacted hundreds of homes. This is a developing situation as much of the area is still flooded. Many roads are closed and many homes cannot be reached for assessment due to flooding. God's Pit Crew is supporting relief efforts in Moreauville, Louisiana by sending a semi truck of relief supplies and working directly with partners who are boots on the ground.
Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana, is underwater after a once-in-a-thousand-year flood. Hundreds of homes are currently sitting in 3-5 feet of water in this community that is not used to flooding, and is not equipped to recover on its own. Hope Force is on the ground assessing and connecting with partners for an active disaster response starting on 24th. The Love Acadiana team is supporting relief efforts by coordinating connections and deploying equipment through local partners who are directly supporting families mucking out their homes. We are also mobilizing volunteers through scheduled serve days, and working as a liaison between faith-based groups, local officials and partner relief organizations.
Volunteers will assist homeowners affected by recent flooding and will help in Jesus' Name with content recovery, debris cleanup, and mudout. There will be opportunities for overnight and day volunteers. No skills are necessary prior to serving. Volunteers will be led and instructed by experienced team leads.
