The remnants of Tropical Storm Arthur brought significant flooding, tornadoes, and severe weather to Louisiana beginning June 18, 2026, with the greatest impacts reported in Avoyelles Parish and St. Tammany Parish.
In Avoyelles Parish, more than 24 inches of rain caused historic flash flooding, resulting in widespread residential damage and numerous water rescues. As of June 21, GOHSEP verified 480 Individual Assistance assessments, including 1 destroyed, 60 major, 280 minor, and 42 affected homes, with additional assessments still underway.
In St. Tammany Parish, tornadoes, damaging winds, and flooding impacted the Slidell area, with 124 homes and businesses damaged, including 13 destroyed and 19 with major damage.
