Mindanao / Sarangani Philippines Earthquake June 2026

A magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck offshore of Maasim, Sarangani Province, Mindanao at about 7:37 a.m. local time on June 8, 2026 , with an estimated depth of about 22 miles / 33 km and movement along the Cotabato Trench. The quake caused deadly building collapses, landslides, damaged homes, damaged hospitals and schools, road/infrastructure impacts, power and water disruptions, and widespread evacuations across southern Mindanao. Current official figures indicate 145,693 people affected , more than 32,000 displaced , 54 evacuation centers active , about 2,500 homes damaged , 37 deaths , 488 injuries , and 4 people missing , with assessments still underway. Aftershocks remain a concern for damaged structures. There are over 54 evacuation centers with 8,725 families / nearly 32,000 individuals inside, plus 1,804 families outside evacuation facilities.

Foursquare Disaster Relief

A powerful 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Mindanao, Philippines, impacting thousands of families. Within our Foursquare community, at least 150 families were affected, and 19 Foursquare churches across the region were damaged or destroyed. Foursquare Philippines immediately began providing relief, as local leaders brought care, supplies, and support to those in need.
